- Notify all past sexual partners warning them of their potential risk for this disease. They too may need to be treated, the best time to catch Syphilis is in the early stages, so the sooner the better.
- About 6 months after the treatments are complete the patient should return to their doctor for a follow up. Another 6 months later the patient should go back one more time for a second and final check up, just to make sure that the infection has not resurfaced in any way, shape, or form. Most doctors recommendations are for two follow ups, after treatments, 6 months apart, but depending on your doctor and the seriousness of your case more frequent checkups may be recommended and needed.
Can the Disease Return After Syphilis Treatment?
- Treatments for Syphilis do not make a person immune to the disease, after a successful treatment it is still possible the patient may get reinfected, although it is not very likely. The only way to know if someone is carrying Syphilis is through a laboratory test only. Talk to a health care provider about the odds of reinfection, some people do not have any chance of reinfection, it all depends on the patient. The results of the Syphilis test 6 months and 12 months after your treatments are complete will tell you the answer to the question of can the disease return.

STD Medical Treatment Video Review: This video exposes statistics that scare many, and rightfully should! It does a great job of getting the public aware and it is a great thing. More video’s of this kind should be played on television more often, rather than videos exposing women’s bodies that create many problems in American youth today.
